Thank
you for your continued generosity. Ellis Hospital is privileged
to have your ongoing support.
For generations, our community has understood the crucial importance
of having high quality health care available right here in Schenectady
and has responded to Ellis’ needs in great numbers. This
critical partnership might best be described as transformational,
as the donor and the hospital are both fundamentally changed
as a direct result of philanthropy. In fact, on a recent tour
of the hospital, one longtime donor was pleasantly surprised
to realize, “I really
do make a difference!” Yes, you can see your dollars at
work
at Ellis. Your generosity truly sustains the heartbeat of health
care in our community!

As you know, health
care is a very competitive industry, especially for not-for-profit
hospitals like Ellis. Faced
with a multitude of financial hurdles, the hospital must
rely on charitable giving for a significant portion of its
annual capital budget.
Thanks to your contributions in 2006, Ellis Hospital was able
to upgrade and expand the Anna Bennett Cardiac Catheterization
Suite and to purchase a new 64-slice CT scanner, which is now
in use. In 2007, the Ellis Hospital Foundation is celebrating
its 25th year as the fund raising arm of the hospital. We’re planning
to raise $2.3 million in support of surgical services, the Wright
Heart Center and the Bruggeman Center‘s medical imaging department
as part of our Quarter Century of Caring campaign.
Thanks again for standing with Ellis to ensure
that the hospital remains on the cutting edge of technology,
at the forefront of medical treatment and at the heart of expert
and personal care.
